Virginia Goat's Rue
Tephrosia virginiana

Height: 1-2 ft
Spread: 1 ft
Bloom Time: May-June
Sunlight: Full Sun to Part Shade
Soil Moisture: Very Dry
Life Cycle: Perennial

Virginia Goat's Rue prefers growing in the driest of places and usually naturally occurs in areas with acidic soil. In May and June, its bicolored flowers bloom. The upper portion of these blossoms are a creamy yellow (or occasionally white), while the bottom part is a pink color. They flower in groups, attracting bees. Later in the year, legume seedpods form. The leaves are a gray-green color and have a feathery appearance. Goat's Rue grows around 1 to 2 feet tall.  Deer Resistant.
