This many-flowered species has large white blooms that are ¾ to 1 inch wide and occasionally bear a purplish tinge. Panicled Aster naturally grows in damp meadows and moist open forests, on streambanks, and along ditches. It has lance-shaped leaves and spreads by runners to form groups. These colonies help to create shelter for wildlife and can aid in preventing soil erosion.
