Grey Goldenrod
Solidago nemoralis var. nemoralis

Height: 2 ft
Spread: 1-2 ft
Bloom Time: August-October
Sunlight: Full Sun to Part Shade
Soil Moisture: Medium, Dry, Very Dry
Life Cycle: Perennial

Grey Goldenrod is a short, non-aggressive goldenrod species and an essential part of dry meadows. Its yellow flowers are arranged in branching clusters that are somewhat one-sided.  The nectar/pollen supports a number of different pollinating insects, including butterflies and a variety of bees (specialist bees, bumble bees, and solitary bees). The large, heavy pollen grains are transported by pollinating insects instead of wind and, unfortunately, have been falsely blamed for fall allergies. These allergies are actually caused by the small, light wind pollinated native Ragweed species. Deer Resistant.
