Also known as Virginia Knotweed, this woodland species has small white flowers that bloom in airy spikes in the summer and early fall. Later in the year, its seeds ripen and "jump" from the seedpods when disturbed, providing this species with its common name. Jumpseed spreads by seeds and roots to form colonies and thrives in a variety of wooded habitats. The nectar is used by many types of bees and also native ants. Deer Resistant.​
