The bright yellow flowers of Rattlesnake Weed are used by small native bees, and the airy stems can reach heights of 1-2 feet tall, blooming in April-July. This species prefers dry, well-drained soil in partially shaded settings and dappled light of open woods. Its leaves grow in a rosette at the ground and have striking red/purple veins during portions of the year.
