Eutrochium purpureum var. purpureum

Height: 5-7 ft
Spread: 2-3 ft
Bloom Time: July-October
Sunlight: Full Sun to Part Shade
Soil Moisture: Wet, Moist, Medium, Dry

Sweet Joe Pye Weed's light pink flowers smell of vanilla when bruised. The blooms are composed of small flowers that are grouped together to form large, rounded clusters. Large groups of Swallowtail butterflies often congregate at this species in late summer.

Sweet Joe Pye Weed typically grows in part shade, in areas of dappled sunlight and along woodland edges. It thrives in drier conditions than other Joe Pye Weeds. Its stems are upright and sturdy with three or four leaves growing in whorls around the central stem.
