Tall Thoroughwort
Eupatorium altissimum

Height: 4-6 ft
Spread: 1-2 ft
Bloom Time: September-October
Sunlight: Full Sun to Part Shade
Soil Moisture: Medium, Dry
Life Cycle: Perennial

Growing 4 to 6 feet tall, this Eupatorium species has white flowers that are a magnet for pollinating insects, especially native wasps, bees, butterflies, and beetles. During its late summer and fall bloom period, its branched clusters of flowers are often humming with insect life. The long, narrow leaves of Tall Thoroughwort run up and down the upright stems and are used as a host plant for the caterpillars of multiple moth species, including Clymene Moths. This species naturally grows in meadows and woodland openings. Deer Resistant.
