Wild Yam is a non-aggressive vine species that thrives in partially shaded locations and typically grows up to 15 feet tall. The leaves of Wild Yam are smooth and heart shaped. Its flowers are yellow/green, or sometimes reddish, and bloom in spring. Later in the year, intricate seedpods with three angles form. Wild Yam thrives in a variety of different environments and can grow in both wet and very dry soil. It can be planted on a structure or can grow on the ground and twine up plant stems. Wild Yam is dioecious, with male and female flowers on separate plants. Deer Resistant.
