Mistflower
Conoclinium coelestinum

Height: 2-3 ft
Spread: 1-2 ft
Bloom Time: August-October
Sunlight: Full Sun to Part Shade
Soil Moisture: Wet, Moist
Life Cycle: Perennial

The flat flowering heads of Mistflower consist of many blue/purple blooms and have a misty appearance. These late summer and fall blooms are well-loved by butterflies, especially skippers and monarchs, who use this species for nectar during their renown migration in late summer. Plants have a bushy structure with branching stems and grow in damp and wet soil. Their preference is full sun areas or wooded settings with some light throughout the day. The new growth is often slow to emerge in spring. Deer Resistant.
