A cool season species that grows around 1 to 2 feet tall, Frank's Sedge prefers moist or wet soil. It grows well in ditches, around ponds, in wet meadows, and in other damp areas. The spike-like flowers/seedheads appear in May through July. This sedge forms a clumping structure. Native grasshoppers use the foliage, and the seeds are eaten by birds. Deer Resistant.
