What we grow
Virginia natives! We grow species that are adapted to the climate and soils that naturally occur in Virginia.
Most of our plants are in deep 1 quart pots or larger. We use deep pots to encourage strong root development and healthy plants.
We will have some plugs available. Contact us in advance for availability.
We are happy to contract grow if you have specific species needs.
How we grow it We use organic, natural growing methods so our plants are safe for the enviroment, safe for people and safe for visiting pollinators, butterflies, hummingbirds, songbirds and other wildlife. Our plants are all nursery propagated. We do not collect plants from the wild.
Please visit our nursery to purchase plants. We do not ship.
Native plants can add beauty to any garden or landscape. Many native plants produce showy flowers, abundant fruits and seeds, brilliant fall foliage and winter interest.
Native plants are adapted to the local climate and soil conditions where they naturally occur. Unlike many non-native garden ornamentals, native plants provide nectar, pollen, and seeds that serve as food for native butterflies, insects, birds and other animals. Plants that evolved here in Virginia are food for animals that evolved here in Virginia. It is as simple as that.
Planting natives can increase the native biodiversity of your backyard and collectively these native gardens can increase the overall amount of natural habitat available for wildlife.
Natives can be used everywhere in your landscape. They are appropriate for both small and large gardens, native meadows and both open woodlands and shaded woodlands. Native plants are found in all soil types and in all habitat types here in Virginia. We aim to offer plants that can grow anywhere and do so beautifully!
Garden with Natives! Help create wildlife habitat and increase native biodiversity in your landscape!
We are happy to help you decide which species are best suited to your site and to help you plan your native plantings.
